About DeltaV

DeltaV is the creation of Emerson Process Management built as an automation system that could integrate and leverage digital technology.

The name DeltaV is derived from the engineering equation for acceleration: dv/dt, the change in velocity over the change in time. The goal and purpose of the DeltaV system is to make planning, engineering, installing, commissioning, training, operating, and maintaining a plant’s process easy.

DeltaV is a total system that comes as both hardware and software. The software form of DeltaV being the focus of this group’s project.

DeltaV is used by the chemical, oil and gas, pulp and paper, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and other industries.
